Emerald: The Gardens Queen

Emerald is part of the beryl family, like Aquamarine and Morganite.
It gets its green colour from the minerals chromium and vanadium and forms in hexagonal prisms. 
Most emeralds have a number of inclusions that can be solid, liquid or gaseous. This group of inclusions forms what is known as the Emerald's 'gardens'. Far from being a default, an Emerald's gardens give it one of its most distinctive features and enhance its authenticity.

Most Emeralds originate from Brazil, but they can also be found in North America, Asia, Africa and Australia. Colombian Emeralds are legendary for their unique beauty.

From Egyptian pharaohs to Inca emperors, Emerald has been treasured since man first discovered it and continues to captivate hearts.
Cleopatra made her passion for Emerald known by wearing it in her royal adornments and the legendary Crown of the Andes, produced in colonial South America, is an example of the Spanish admiration for this gem. 
The Emerald, besides being considered the gemstone of the month of May, celebrates the 20th and 35th wedding anniversary. The legend says, that it possesses the ability to make its wearer smarter and faster. It is a stone of prosperity and wealth, not only material but also spiritual, so it is also used in royalty tiaras at weddings and in engagement rings.
